Week of October 20, 2025

It was another great week at Aston Elementary School! There is more fun to come next week!

Off SIte Evacuation Drill

The drill went really well. The students did a great job and it only took us 45 minutes to evacuate Aston, get onto the buses, unload at Neumann, take roll, and then head back to school. Teachers and staff handled the drill very well!

Trunk or Treat is Thursday! Important Info below:

Please bring a canned good or non perishable food item to Trunk or Treat (if you can) to help Mt. Hope stock their food pantry.

🚪 ENTRY:

Things will look a little different this year! Entry will be on the side of the building by the Kindergarten hallway.

Our volunteers will check you in as quickly as possible — please make sure your admission bracelets are visible.

🍬 TRUNK LINE TIPS:

Please remind kids to stop at each trunk and grab a treat — no need to spend too long choosing their candy. If they don’t have your favorite, you can always trade with friends at the end of the night 😉

✂️ BRACELET CHECK:

Once you’ve made it through the line, a volunteer will cut off bracelets to make sure everyone gets a fair chance at the goodies.

🎃 PUMPKIN RAFFLE:

After trick-or-treating, swing by our Pumpkin Raffle Table!

All pumpkins were decorated by our amazing staff — take a chance to win one to take home! Pumpkin winners will be chosen on Friday morning during school.

☕ FOOD & FUN:

When you’re done, head to the front of the building to grab a treat from Kona Ice or Traveling Tom’s Coffee Truck and hang out with friends.

Please note: once you’ve gone through the Trunk or Treat line, re-entry is not permitted.

The Aston Book Fair is coming! It will be held from November 18 - 25! Click the link to see the flier below for more information.

Our Mural is almost complete - we can not wait for everyone to see it! It is a colorful way for us to show the students that everyone can be a leader!

Technology Tools for Parents

How Kindness Online Makes the Internet Better

Every post, comment, or message helps shape the tone of the online world. When kids choose kindness—by congratulating a friend, offering encouragement, or standing up for someone who feels left out—they make digital spaces more welcoming and positive. These moments don’t have to happen on social media. Younger children can share kindness through safe, parent-approved platforms like classroom apps, family messaging threads, or kids' email accounts. Parents can model this by sending kind notes or leaving thoughtful comments in shared spaces. Kids notice these everyday acts—and they’re more likely to repeat them.

Action step: This week, challenge your child to send one kind message in a safe online space—a compliment, a thank-you, or a quick note of encouragement—and then talk about how it felt to spread positivity digitally.
