Welcome to the first full week in October ! We are truly cruising along at Aston Elementary.
MTSS Update
We have completed assessing and grouping students and we have placed students into intervention and enrichment groups We have started MTSS groups in all grades. You should have gotten a letter explaining your child's MTSS group. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions!
Leader in Me/PBIS Updates:
Students continue to focus on being safe, respectful, and responsible in all areas! The trait of this month is responsibility. We are teaching all of our students, even those as young as 5, to be responsible for themselves.
Recess, PE, and Crocks
While crocks are allowed at school, they are not allowed for PE and they are not the best choice for recess. Students wearing crocks are not allowed to play sports during recess. Sneakers are always the best footwear to ensure safety for our very active students.

#BeKindOnline Monday is #BlueShirtDay
October 6, 2025 is World Day Of Bullying Prevention. Join us on Monday by wearing blue to stand together against bullying and increase awareness of the problem. If we all stand together, then no one stands alone.
What to Do if You See Mean Comments Online
When kids see someone being bullied online, they may not know how to respond. Joining in or staying silent can unintentionally make the problem worse. Instead, children can learn to take three key steps: don’t engage with the bully, show support to the person being targeted, and tell a trusted adult. Even small acts—like posting a kind comment or checking in privately with the person who was hurt—can make a big difference. Families can strengthen this skill by role-playing scenarios together, such as what to do if they see mean comments in a group chat. Action steps: Ask your child this week how they might respond if they saw a classmate being treated unfairly online. Practice different responses together to build their confidence. Wear blue on Monday to stand together against bullying.
