3rd Grade Poems

Cats Christmas

By Lucy Wood

A cat’s Christmas is fun.

Cats hang kitty-cat sized socks up.

They hang them up with glee.

Cats play sneaky Santa Paws, it's fun for you and me.

Cats make tiny snowflakes, that make tiny snow.

Cats open gifts, Hay, Look! A cat’s under the mistletoe!

Cats get presents like dolls and trains and cars

And on a tree for cat is a tiny star.

That's a cat’s Christmas.

Best Friends

By Jolene Singleton

Best friends are good to have.

One of the reasons is, they make you laugh.

Best friends have a strong connection and you play some games like Perfection.

Happy or sad, Laugh or cry, no matter.

They’re always by your side

I love best friends,

I really do! So how about You?

4th Grade Poems

Holiday Feels

By Isla Gallagher

When Halloween was near,

I felt the fear.

When thanksgiving came,

I felt insane.

Now that Christmas is almost here,

I feel and hear,

The joy of all my peers.

Christmas NIght

By Emma Lare

Wind blowing very light

Santa not even in our sight.

That are out in the snow

Listening to music very low.

Decorating the tree with ornaments so bright

I can’t even tell if it’s morning or night.

5th Grade Poems

Christmas Lights (acrostic poem)

By Kelsey Jirak

C-Christmas lights lined one by one

H-How cool it is when they’re finally hung

R-Riding sleds side by side

I-Inclines so big we almost died

S-Surely it’s more than just a dream

T-To all who believe in Santa and his team

M-More and more joy to come

A-All my body parts start to feel numb

S-So cold but that can’t ruin our fun

L-Lots of snow but in spring there will be none

I-Inside we go to warm our toes

G-Grabbing a seat by the fire to dry our clothes

H-Hot chocolate and cookies on my tray

T-Time is ticking, it’s almost Christmas day

S-Santa will be here soon on his sleigh

Very Merry (acrostic poem)

By peyton Nelson

C-Christmas decorated all through the house

H-Happy holiday to everyone this year

R-Running around for all to hear

I-It is the most wonderful time of the year

S-Singing along as the cheering is clear

T-Time is almost out, christmas is almost here

M-Many leaving, many staying

A-And most of all Merry Christmas

S-So excited to open the golden gifts

P-Partying from dusk to dawn

A-As the candles are burning on and on

R-Ringing phones of people spreading spirit

T-Tons of games for kids to endure

Y-Yo yos for people who are bored

The Mobile Dentist Returns February 7

The Pennsylvania Department of Health requires a dental examination upon entrance to school (kindergarten or 1st grade) and in grades 3 and 7. Those who need a dental exam, regardless of grade, can sign up to be examined at Northley Middle School. Learn more and register at www.pdsd.org/dentist.

Penn-Delco Cares invites the community to join a special webinar to better understand and address anxiety in children. This follow-up session led by Troy Brindle, LCSW, will focus on supporting anxiety strategies related to the use of technology and social media.
