Welcome Letter from Club Member Alex!
Welcome to the first South Mountain Astronomy Club blog post!  Nestled in the valley of South Mountain Park in Phoenix, AZ, our South Mountain Environmental Educa tion Center is home to ODSI. 

Installed in September of 2018, ODSI stands for Optical Deep Space Imaging and is a telescope that can see deep into outer space.

Two kinds of pizza will be provided, but please feel free to bring other snacks to share! Business will be covered, then we'll do some learning followed by some viewing. 
Bring your telescope if you have one!
Club Meeting Learning Presentations
We'd like members to share short learning presentations with the group. 

Looking for 15 minutes on any topic of interest and 10 minutes demonstrating ways to communicate astronomy to the public!

Please come help and invite your friends for a fun family event celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11! 

We need your help with astronomy-based learning for youth and adults. Let Lisa know if you're available to join us!
