Upcoming Events

South Marshall Street Mother's Day Pop-Up, Saturday May 13, 1-3pm., 225 South Marshall (Sidewalk by the Shelter). There will be music, sidewalk chalk painting, donuts and plants for Mom.

CT Public sponsoring a Community Discussion on the redesign of their first floor space at 1049 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, 6:00-7:30pm (doors open at 5:30pm). Refreshments will be served.  The building is on the bus line with parking available on site.

Two years ago, I helped create the Community Investment Fund (CIF) 2030 as a way to target state investments in underserved communities in Connecticut such as our city through economic development, small business, education, and infrastructure projects.

Thanks to strong applications from Hartford, I am pleased to report that the State Bond Commission has approved three major projects for our city that were recommended by the 21-member CIF board, which I co-chair with Senate President Martin Looney of New Haven...

AHNA teams up with the Beecher Center and Mark Twain House & Museum for Nook Farm Neighborhood Block Party on Saturday June 10th.
 
Asylum Hill Neighborhood Association is teaming up with the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center and the Mark Twain House & Museum for the Nook Farm Neighborhood Block Party on Saturday June 10th from 11am to 3pm. Named for the farm where Harriet Beecher Stowe's and Mark Twain's homes are located. This event will celebrate Harrier Beecher Stowe's Birthday, CT Open House Day and AHNA's 25th Anniversary. The event will feature family friendly activities including music, ice cream, discounted tours of the museums, and period lawn games.
