Students to Get Class in Financial Literacy

Preparing our children to be productive successful adults is one of the main purposes of our education system, and it is critical that classes offered to students continue to evolve to help meet this important goal.

Resident Parking Program to expand in 2024


Since 2022, AHNA has been hearing complaints from residents living on Collins Street about vehicles blocking their driveways. Unfortunately, to get these cars towed required our CSO to personally observe the violation and call it in. AHNA researched the problem and spoke with the Hartford Parking Authority (HPA) about potential solutions. The current Asylum Hill Residential Parking Program exists from 121 – 181 Collins...

Opportunity comes to Asylum Hill


During September, on an unusually brisk day, more than 100 people gathered, driven by hope and curiosity. They harbored aspirations for improved employment prospects or a kickstart to their careers, anticipating a program that could facilitate gainful employment. AHNA has a new Chairperson,

At AHNA's Annual Meeting on Monday, Nov. 6th, the membership re-elected 3 residents to the AHNA Board of Directors along with a new Chairperson and Vice Chairperson. Lynn Johnson, Esther Gonzales-Torres and Louisa Barton-Duguay were re-elected to new 3 year terms to AHNA's Board.


AHNA's previous Chairperson, Jackie McKinney decided she wasn't going to run for re-election as Chairperson. Janine McMahon, who served as Vice Chairperson for the past 2 years decided to accept the nomination for Board Chairperson. Barbara Robbins, long time Asylum Hill resident, was elected as a new Vice Chairperson. Congratulations to Everyone!
