Join us for the Asylum Hill Neighborhood Association (AHNA’s) Green Energy Fair at Sigourney Square Park on Saturday, October 15 (raindate, October 22), 11-4PM. Visit the “Energy in Action Mobile Van” and experience the interactive Green Energy Exhibit for all ages! Hear stories from Green Eco Warriors author Leticia Colon de Mejias. Free books for children! Watch a performance from Hartford’s Proud Drum and Drill Team.

Being the “Land of Steady Habits” sometimes means we are simply too slow to embrace needed change - Our restrictive voting system is a good example.

This November, you have the chance to modernize Connecticut’s archaic election rules. There is a constitutional amendment on the ballot that will allow voters to decide if the state should consider early voting.
 
I’ve said it before; Life is complicated and messy, and many people find it hard to carve out time on Election Day to get to the polls....

Join us on October 26th to honor Bernie Michel’s 25+ years of Service to Asylum Hill
 
AHNA’s Annual Meeting and Board of Director elections are coming on November 7th. AHNA is the NRZ for Asylum Hill and all NRZs must have a majority residents on their Boards. We need Asylum Hill residents to join our Board. This is an exciting time to join AHNA’s Board of Directors. We have a new Strategic Plan for Asylum Hill, increasing revenues and new projects starting up. You can really have a positive impact on your neighborhood. The time required to join the AHNA Board isn’t too much. It’s about 6 hours per month to attend required meetings. The deadline to apply is October 14th.
