At Home With Wilton Library
May 29, 2020
  • Gov. Lamont has announced June 20 as the start of reopening libraries in CT. Wilton Library is working with the Town of Wilton to comply with State directives and local guidelines. We hope to open our drive-thru window on June 22 while maintaining our robust digital and virtual offerings. We are looking forward to once again serving our patrons via the drive-thru window, located on Godfrey Place. Please watch for further announcements, including when you can start bringing your items back.
  • At present, Wilton Library remains closed as does our returns bin. All items have been automatically renewed and no late fees will be accruing. Need a Wilton Library card? Call 203-762-6334 to get one.
Please Give to Our Annual Appeal
So much of life as we know it has changed, yet Wilton Library is still here for you. For over 125 years, Wilton Library has been here for the community. But we are not a municipal public library. Approximately 25% of our budget must come from donations. We depend on your financial support to cover every program, service, and collection material we offer (including digital). Our appeal for the annual friends campaign is digital now and it couldn't be easier to give. Please make a gift to support Wilton Library today.
Funny Friday Edition

Studies link laughter with a release of endorphins, boosting mood, along with alleviating stress, and increasing immune cells and disease-fighting antibodies. So for your health's sake, have a laugh and check out these ideas and resources below.

You may be experiencing more stress than laughter these days. What happens to our brains under stress? Why are we forgetful and disorganized in crisis? How can we manage all the responsibilities we face in lockdown and as we emerge? Join Dr. Betsy Stone for an interactive virtual discussion of our brains under stress and learn more about what's happening in your head. Dr. Stone is a retired psychologist and lectures widely on issues of resilience, stress and the lives of families. Questions? Email mbellacosa@wiltonlibrary.org.

There's nothing like a side-splitting read to boost your mood. The intimacy of reading makes the humor feel more personal and can elicit guffaws that make you forget about everything else. Check out these Funny Fiction selections. They may be downloaded in the Libby by OverDrive app or viewed online on our OverDrive page.
