At Home With Wilton Library
November 18, 2020
Wilton Library will close at 2pm on Wednesday, November 25, and
all day on Thursday, November 26, in observance of Thanksgiving.
Embracing Longer Nights
When did midnight begin arriving at 5pm? We're all sad to say so long to the brighter days of daylight savings time. Embrace and celebrate the longer nights with resources from Wilton Library. Today we offer up selections from two popular celebrity book clubs as well as books in honor of Native American Heritage Month. We've also got poetry programs, an inviting knitting group, as well as free digital streaming services for music, movies and TV shows. Make the most of your hours at home and let Wilton Library help -- virtually, in-person, or at the Drive Thru.
Be Your Own Book Club
If you’re struggling to decide what to read, or can’t join an actual book club right now, celebrity book club reads just might be what you’re looking for. They can be great sources of inspiration for what to read next. Check out these selections from Oprah Winfrey, who started the celebrity book club craze, as well as those from Reese Witherspoon's Book Club, designed to elevate female voices.
Giving Thanks, Giving Tuesday -- December 1
First turkey, then Giving TuesdayMark your calendar for December 1 to participate in Giving Tuesday. Wilton Library is excited to participate for the second year in this global day of giving. And we already have momentum! Coldwell Banker Cares has posted a $1,000 challenge grant for those in the community to follow suit and give on that day. Let's come together to drive generosity to philanthropically bolster important non-profit organizations like Wilton Library.

Poetry in Motion: 2020 and Beyond!
Saturday, December 5 @7pm via ZOOM   REGISTER HERE
Join us for a virtual Poetry in Motion performance. For 11 years, Wilton Library organized this poetry and arts-based event. It enabled teens to use poetry to express their views, concerns, hopes and dreams before a live audience. Many of those students are now in college, pursuing careers, or working on doctoral degrees. They have agreed to reunite for one evening and perform their latest poems....this time about their experiences during 2020 and hopes for the future. Sponsored by the John and Patricia Curran Teen Fund. For teens and adults. REGISTER HERE in order to receive the invitation link to the Zoom session and the event playbill.
Wait, there's more..
