The Best of 2020
Nothing stops Listicle Season. It can be argued that there was very little 'best of' in 2020, except of course if we are discussing books. There were so many great new releases this year in all categories that it's hard to develop one definitive list. Today we give you many. Check out the 'best books' lists below -- you'll be sure to find selections to keep you reading through 2021. We've also got reads for a snowy afternoon (have you seen the forecast!), poetry, eBook news, and our annual appeal in full swing. We're here for you.
The Must-Reads of 2020
Never wonder "what should I read next?" again with this selection of Best Books of 2020 lists. Click the links to see the top picks from your favorite sources. Click the individual books in the lists to place a hold and pick up at the Drive-Thru or opt for a digital download.
We got your attention with the puppy, didn't we? We know that you make your annual Friend's Appeal gifts because you love the library and want to support our work. However, if you need more incentive, a temporary charitable deduction has been enacted for 2020. This deduction will allow taxpayers who do not currently itemize their deductions to claim a charitable deduction for cash donations up to $300 through December 31. Additionally, adjusted gross income limits (AGI) on charitable donations are suspended or increased for cash gifts made by individuals and corporations. In other words, taxpayers who itemize are eligible to take charitable deductions up to 100% of their AGI for the 2020 tax year.

Your support is greatly appreciated and funds every item in our collection, as well as all the programs and services we offer, as we are not a fully tax-supported municipal library. Please Click Here to Make Your Gift to the library before December 31.
All WLA's eBooks & eAudiobooks Now Available on Overdrive/Libby
Wilton Library has merged all its eBooks and eAudiobooks into one resource -- Overdrive and its Libby app. All the eBooks and eAudiobooks that had been found on the RBDigital service are now available in Overdrive and the Libby by OverDrive app. If you have already been enjoying Overdrive and the Libby app, there will be no change, other than you will notice even more great titles available for you to borrow. At present, you can continue to use RBdigital to access eMagazines and Acorn TV. We will notify you when those resources move to OverDrive/Libby in 2021. A Wilton Library card is required to access these services. Click here for some help and video tutorials about using OverDrive and the Libby app.
Books for a Snowy Afternoon

Service Hours Update
Beginning Monday, December 21
Wilton Library is expanding Drive-Thru Window hours beginning Monday, Dec. 21. The hours will be Mondays through Thursdays, 10am to 7pm; Fridays 10 to 6; and Saturdays, 10 to 5. Additionally, due to the current spike in COVID cases and out of an abundance of caution, we are suspending our Express Services appointment hours beginning Dec. 21. Express Services appointments will resume following an assessment of the COVID conditions resulting from holiday gatherings. This action is being taken in order to keep you, the community, and our employees safe.
During our holiday recess, the building will also undergo a planned deep cleaning. Please note the library, including the Drive-Thru Window, will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 31, and Jan. 1.
