At Home With Wilton Library
June 2, 2021
Visit Us with Expanded Hours & Services
It's now easier to access and enjoy Wilton Library! As of June 1, we're open with expanded hours, patron seating, and more services. We're so happy to welcome more people into the building. We're also celebrating Pride Month with books that show that our literary world can (and should!) be as beautifully diverse as the world we live in. With Memorial Day behind us, it's also the beginning of beach reads season, so check out the breezy selection on offer. We've also got a literary seminar, poetry workshop, an enhanced career resource, our annual appeal, and more. Visit us more often -- in-person, at the Drive-Thru, or virtually.

June is Pride Month
The month of June was chosen as Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots in June 1969. LGBTQ pride promotes self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning people as a social group. Celebrate Pride Month with this selection that features LGBTQ characters and themes.
Help Us Cross the Finish Line -- Support Wilton Library's Annual Appeal
This past year, Wilton Library increased investment in digital resources and pivoted to virtual programs. We provided hundreds of programs virtually including Children’s Storytimes, Zentangle classes, literary discussions, jazz concerts, and more! None of this would be possible without the support of private donations to our Annual Appeal. Wilton Library is not wholly funded by tax dollars. Each year we must raise approximately 25% of our budget to maintain and enhance the collection and provide programs and services to our community. Please make your gift to the Annual Appeal today. Click here.

What’s “Victorian” About the Victorian Novel? A Consideration of Four Novels by Four Authors
Thursdays, June 3, 10, 17 & 24 @5pm via ZOOM REGISTER HERE
Please join us as Mark J. Schenker of Yale College returns to Wilton Library to give four lectures on great novels published during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). He will discuss these classics in the order of their publication, focusing on their style and structure as works of literary art and the social and intellectual issues they engage. Attendees are not expected to read or reread any of the novels, but a familiarity with them will make the lectures more meaningful. Here are the novels for each week:
These lectures are made possible thanks to the support of the Literary Series in Memory of Amy Quigley. Please note that you will automatically be registered for all four sessions in the series. REGISTER HERE in order to receive the invitation links to the Zoom sessions.
