May 26, 2021
Wilton Library will be closed on Monday, May 31st in observance of Memorial Day
Just Do It
No, we're not talking about lacing up and sprinting a marathon. But go ahead if that's in your wheelhouse. We're talking about doing on a smaller, less cardio-centric plane. Today we give you 'just do it' new releases for home, garden, and DIY projects. And May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month so we join the rest of the country in paying tribute to the generations of Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America's history and are instrumental in its future success. We invite you to explore some of the best books featuring AAPI authors and themes. We've also got an author talk, a Victorian literary seminar, Zentangle art, book club, our annual appeal, and more. So just do it -- visit us in-person, at the Drive-Thru, or virtually.
New in Home, Garden, and DIY
Welcome to what's new and largely undiscovered in our collection of home, garden, and DIY books. Each month our librarians compile this list (as well as a whole host of compilations from other genres in our collection) and offer monthly email newsletters. Sign up for these genre-specific email newsletters here and check out these new selections in home, garden, and DIY..
Help Us Cross the Finish Line -- Support Wilton Library's Annual Appeal
This past year, Wilton Library increased investment in digital resources and pivoted to virtual programs. We provided hundreds of programs virtually including Children’s Storytimes, Zentangle classes, literary discussions, jazz concerts, and more! None of this would be possible without the support of private donations to our Annual Appeal. Wilton Library is not wholly funded by tax dollars. Each year we must raise approximately 25% of our budget to maintain and enhance the collection and provide programs and services to our community. Please make your gift to the Annual Appeal today. Click here.

What’s “Victorian” About the Victorian Novel? A Consideration of Four Novels by Four Authors
Thursdays, June 3, 10, 17 & 24 @5pm via ZOOM REGISTER HERE
Please join us as Mark J. Schenker of Yale College returns to Wilton Library to give four lectures on great novels published during the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). He will discuss these classics in the order of their publication, focusing on their style and structure as works of literary art and the social and intellectual issues they engage. Attendees are not expected to read or reread any of the novels, but a familiarity with them will make the lectures more meaningful. Here are the novels for each week:
These lectures are made possible thanks to the support of the Literary Series in Memory of Amy Quigley. Please note that you will automatically be registered for all four sessions in the series. REGISTER HERE in order to receive the invitation links to the Zoom sessions.
