The story of the English Pilgrims on the Mayflower is well known. Much less so is the fascinating story of survival in 4 different countries within 50 years of the Reformation of FDR's ancestors -- the de Lannoys, and Mahieus. Join FDR Library Education Specialist Jeffrey Urbin as he speaks with genealogist and historian (and Delano/de Lannoy/Mahieu descendant) George English. Q&A to follow in the comments.

President Roosevelt proposed the United Nations in 1942 as a peacekeeping mechanism for nations during wartime. It was ratified after his death in 1945, with 51 Member States signing the original charter. Now, it consists of 193 Member States spread throughout the world. An expert panel discusses FDR's original vision vs the UN of today. Broadcast on CSPAN (Video, 1 hour and 16 minutes.)
