Confirmed as Chair of 2019
Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Board

Today, Councilmember Robert White was confirmed as Chair of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) Board of Directors. White is proudly part of a historical COG Board, the first all African-American Board and all women Corporate Officers.
The Board of
Directors is COG's governing body and is responsible for its overall policies, the approval of its work program, and budget. The Board takes action on committee recommendations, works to address current and emerging regional problems, and develops legislative priorities and policy objectives. In recent years, the Board has focused on regional infrastructure, economic competitiveness, and the Metrorail system.
Board members are appointed each year by COG’s local governments and representatives from the Maryland and Virginia state legislative delegations.

Last year, Councilmember Robert White served as Vice Chair of the COG Board of Directors.
