Shridhar G. Kelkar will be hosted in a relaxed, convivial gathering with
beverages & dessert at the home of John & Karina Page in San Gabriel.
Thursday,

, beginning at 6:00 pm:
The Pages will host Shridhar in a potluck dinner at their home. All are welcome to these events, held at:
6208 N. Del Loma Ave, San Gabriel 91775
In addition,
during the day on Thursday, April 23, the Pages will accompany Shridhar on local excursions to places of scenic beauty or historical interest. Again, all are welcome to join this gathering.

John has given a tentative sketch of the day's plan:
"During the day on Thursday we will schedule some fun outing for Shridhar probably to a nearby park like Huntington Gardens and Library in San Marino or the Los Angeles County Arboretum in Arcadia. Again these would be relaxing fun times with him. We will likely go to the Arboretum in the morning (10-10:30) and the Huntington in the afternoon. Call for more details as the day approaches. Any outings will be entirely dependent on Shridhar's health and inclination at the time."
Shridhar G. Kelkar will also be hosted for an afternoon tea & talk at Meher Mount in Ojai on Friday, April 24 at 1:30 pm. (details here)

Since February 2015, regular Sunday late-morning meetings at Meherabode have shifted from a weekly basis to a semi-monthly basis (twice per month). Please refer to "Future Happenings" above for the ongoing schedule.
Meherabode and Meher Baba Books will continue to be open every Sunday from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm.
All regular Meherabode meetings begin promptly at the announced time. Please help us make it happen.

LORD MEHER, written by the late Bhau Kalchuri at the express direction of Meher Baba, is, simply put, the most detailed and comprehensive biography of Avatar Meher Baba. Spanning literally thousands of pages, and based on a plethora of diaries, journals, letters, books, and personal accounts, these volumes are studded with many gems in the form of Meher Baba's discourses and utterances, along with colorful and interesting stories and anecdotes of his day-to-day activities. Of course the real inner work of a figure such as Meher Baba is beyond the scope of any such chronicle; but an account of his external life, of his recordable and knowable historical activities and utterances, resembles a shell in which the pearl of his inner nature can always be discovered if one looks for it.

This week (April 13) we studied
The Place of Occultism in Spiritual Life -- Part II
(The Occult Basis of Spiritual Life). We had another exciting Baba-filled discussion. Our favorite passage was: "Those who have even a preliminary acquaintance with the structures and laws of the inner spheres of existence know that complete isolation of human beings is a figment of the imagination. Whether they desire it or not, all persons are constantly acting and interacting upon each other by there very existence, even when they do not establish any contact on the physical plane."
Next Monday (April 20) we'll study The Place of Occultism in Spiritual Life -- Part III (Occultism and Spirituality) (revised 6th edition, Vol. II, pp. 104 - 115 ; Seventh revised edition pp. 193-200).

Perpetual Public Trust, Shridhar G. Kalkar,
will talk about "
My Life with Meher Baba"
The Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust (AMBPPCT) is a charitable trust in India created by Meher Baba in 1959 to fulfill after his death various directives given by him. The longest-serving  Chairman of the Trust was Bhau Kalchuri (1927-2013), who was succeeded in that role by our guest speaker, Shridhar Kelkar.
Shridhar was born in the seacoast town of Guhagar (180 miles south of Mumbai) in Maharashtra, India.

He learned about Meher Baba in 1962 through his future wife, Perviz Talati, daughter of Dina and Naval Talati, who had been a close disciple of Meher Baba's since the 1920s. ♦
Shridhar first had Meher Baba's darshan (blessing) during the East-West Gathering in Pune, India, in 1962. He also
 attended Meher Baba's last public appearance in December 1968. ♦
Thereafter, Shridhar was closely involved in the activities of the Avatar Meher Baba Bombay Centre until moving to Meherabad in 1997. ♦
Since then he has been involved in the activities of the Trust, working at the Meherabad Trust Office. In 2001, Shridhar become a Trustee and in December 2013, he was selected Chairman of the AMBPPCT.
Please join us in welcoming him to Meherabode, and hearing his story of meetings with Meher Baba.
