A Message from our Director

This Sunday Delaware Sea Grant (DESG) will be helping to put on the first Coast Day on our Lewes Campus in three years, and for the first time, the event will feature a dedicated Sea Grant tent where you can learn about research we have funded, initiatives of our Marine Advisory Service and more.

I hope you will stop by to meet some of our dedicated staff and share in what they do for our coastal environment and communities. More information can be found at the website linked below. We are all excited to help this community tradition return.

While it's easy to focus on what is coming up with fall festivals and a new academic year for our faculty and student partners, I also want to look back on a very productive summer. There are some stories below about DESG efforts from over the summer that I hope you will find interesting. In coming months you will see more coverage of very successful programs that Marine Education Specialist David Christopher provided in many of Delaware's libraries over the summer and of the unique experience our DESG intern, Rex Schiff, had over the summer helping David and others with their summer activities, so keep an eye on deseagrant.org or @deseagrant on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Thank you for your continued interest in our coastal environment and your support for our program.

Best wishes,

Joanna York
