We are very excited

to launch our new

STUDENT PROGRESS EXPLORER

this fall. When you log into your educator account now you should see it listed. What is it and how does it work? It allows you to search in different ways (class, student) to assess progress. For example, if you select an individual you can view their completed activities to note their movement through the lessons. Additionally, you will be shown an average score for completed activities within a particular lesson. We hope this is one more step toward making your teaching with ASLdeafined as smooth and supportive as possible.

We also wanted you to be aware of our recent MOBILE APP UPDATE! Our goal is to continually improve our offerings, so we are happy to share that our app now has expanded capabilities that provide you the full ASLdeafined experience. You can now complete all of the activities on our app, and any scores from the website are transferred. Users can also review their answers, sort by level and much more! We recommend that one of the first things you do with your classes is check to be sure everyone has downloaded the app to assist with their learning.

From the Field...

One thing that we have discovered teachers find helpful is SPLITTING CLASSES. This simply means sorting your classes by hour, class period or some other way to help you manage things. Like other tasks you may want to try with ASLdeafined, accomplishing this is just a matter of reaching out to us! We are ready, willing and able to take care of this for you in the hopes that it will be easier for you to regulate your students, their logins, scores, etc.

Beyond wanting to welcome you back in person via video, we look forward to seeing you on our Facebook page. We have a few options that we feel may appeal.

Although we will continue to share information this way, we hope you consider signing up for the ASLdeafined Announcements and Updates group to be sure you are abreast of the latest news.

We have received some positive feedback from our ASL Teacher Help and Support -ASLDEAFINED gang as well, and likewise encourage you to join us there!

Important Info

Just a helpful reminder that when a student logs into ASLdeafined for the first time, they will be prompted to change their username, password, and email address.

We certainly don't expect individuals to memorize their temporary login information, but this option means that if there is anyone who does not personalize their account correctly, it could be lost in cyberspace for eternity.

Subsequently, please make sure any students who receive a username and password from you personalize those first 3 important boxes as their first task after initially signing in. Incidentally, it is perfectly fine for them to use a fake email address if that is your (or their) preference.

That said, we certainly know how things can go, so if you ever encounter issues with this sort of thing, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for a fix or check out the below video for help.
