Fall Sports Congratulations!!!

GIRLS SWIM & DIVE: Still in season, ranked
6th in WIAA and finished 2nd in Conference.
Rian Wells won the Big 8 Diving Championship.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Finished the season running to 9th place in the
WIAA State Meet.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Had many successes over the season culminating with a 4th place finish at
WIAA State Meet.
FOOTBALL: Received a bid for the WIAA playoffs and lost an exciting game to top seed Madison Memorial.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL: Won Regionals over Waukesha North but could not get past the top-ranked Middleton Cardinals at Sectionals.
GIRLS GOLF: Ava Downing, Ashley Fleming & Margo Bush received WIGCA All-state Academic Awards.
DANCE: Dance Team's first competition of the season: 1st place finishers: Lucy Bootz, Nicole Parra, Sylvia Bootz & Nana Osaki, & team routine!

By now many of you, the members of the Madison West Family are aware of the passing of Jim McCoy. Jim was equally loved as a wonderful Cross Country Coach and a talented and caring Special Education Teacher. Beyond his professional roles, Jim was a cherished friend and colleague. All of us who knew, worked, and played with Jim are better for the experience. Jim touched the lives of so many. Whether it was his creative work with our team, his wonderful home baked cookies that he brought weekly for the West Staff, or his high energy enthusiasm for seemingly everything, Jim was there for everyone.
We would like to purchase a bench and place it at Lake Farm Park dedicated to Jim's memory. Lake Farm is the park where our Cross Country teams run their home meets. If you would like to make a donation toward the purchase and installation of the bench, you can make checks out to MWABA with a note indicating that this for the Jim McCoy memorial.
