Dori Bower, MAI, 2020 Chapter President
Happy New Year! I would like to thank the Atlanta Area Chapter for electing me to be your 2020 Chapter President. It is truly an honor and privilege to serve as your Chapter President.
The Atlanta Chapter is one of the largest and most effective chapters in our organization. This is thanks to a long line of dedicated professionals who have volunteered their time representing our members at the local, regional and national levels, organizing educational and social events, and working to fulfill members' professional needs. The Atlanta Chapter has a committed group of officers, board members, and committees working on your behalf in 2020, and we are truly lucky to have the talents of your Executive Director, Suzanne Brockway. Suzanne keeps the Atlanta Chapter well organized and our chapter would not be the same without her.
My hope for the new year is that you will be inspired to participate in our chapter meetings, educational offerings, and social events. Attending events and taking your continuing education with our chapter is a great way to support your organization as well as advance you career. We are planning several networking/social events aimed at attracting new members as well as those who do not frequently come out to our chapter meetings. We had great turnouts at our Brewery, Topgolf and Painted Duck events, and are looking into hosting similar educational and networking events in 2020.
The Appraisal Institute will continue to be the leader in our industry. As in previous years, 2020 will have its share of changes and challenges, and our organization will need to adapt to and use change to our benefit. Please take the time to consider and respond to proposed changes from The Appraisal Institute, The Appraisal Foundation, and other organizations affecting your profession. Even more so, I encourage you to join the ranks of our future leadership.
As your President, I welcome your suggestions for ways we can improve our member services and provide the support you need to reach your professional goals. I look forward to seeing you at our next chapter meeting.
Best Regards,
Dori D. Bower, MAI
