Atlanta Vintage Books was established in 1988, by husband and wife Giles and Helen Hollingsworth. The store specialized in rare books and mainly catered to collectors. 

Husband and wife Bob Roarty and Jan Bolgla purchased the store in 2007, when both they and the bookstore were ripe for change. Jan shares,“We had both left high stress jobs in the printing and graphic arts industries, and had thrown everything we had into buying the bookstore.” 

Over the years, the store expanded and now holds over 80,000 books on two large levels. From recent fiction to rare First Editions and everything in between, Atlanta Vintage Books has become one of the most well-known destinations for booklovers in the Southeast.

“We like to say we're like Cheers without the beers,” Bob says, “A place to go where everybody knows your name.” Jan adds, “This job has become so much more than we could ever have imagined. Books can open minds, but so does dialogue. As much as we love books, we've been just as enriched by the personal encounters and real-life stories we've shared.”
