PZ HITS THE THE TRAIL!

As part of his sabbatical, Pastor Zac has started his walk on the Katy Trail. He will walk 225 miles over 11 days. While we shouldn't disturb this time of spiritual renewal for PZ, he will send us occasional virtual "post cards" to let us know how he is doing. Use the button below to read his postcards as we receive them.

QUESTIONS-AND-ANSWERS WITH BISHOP CANDEA

Sunday, June 30 | 9:30 AM | Gathering Place

Grab a coffee or snack from the café and join Bishop Candea after worship for a Question-and-Answer session. She will answer your questions about the recent resolutions passed at the 2024 Central States Synod Assembly. (Resolutions include "Pastoral Leadership Transitions in the Central States Synod", "Resolution to Become a Reconciling in Christ Synod", and "2024 Resolution on Peace and Climate Justice".) Bishop Candea will answer questions about what these resolutions mean at a synodical level, including what it means for our synod to be Reconciling in Christ.

REMAINING YOUTH TRIPS

Our Youth have two more summer trips coming up this year. From July 7 through July 13, high school students head to Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp in Colorado. From July 16 through July 23, 75 local youth head to New Orleans, Louisiana, for the National Youth Gathering. Please pray for all the youth and their adult leaders as they travel on these trips.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP SUCCESS

Middle school students had an amazing time at Rainbow Trail Camp June 9-15. The week was full of fun, with plenty of time for praising Jesus. We spent an amazing full day on a hike in the mountains experiencing creation. We also had a great time whitewater rafting, and who can forget the amazing dance party we had? Camp was a week full of our students getting to experience God in a place like no other. Click the link below to check out photos from the trip.

YOUTH MUSIC MISSION TRIP UPDATE

Youth from Atonement’s handbell program traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma June 7-9. They spent time in community service, musical service, worship, and fellowship. On Saturday morning they put together “grace bags”. These bags contain a variety of easy-to-open food, water, and toiletries, which are handed out in the community to those in need. They then traveled to a local nursing home to perform a concert for residents which included eight musical selections played as a choir, two individual bell tree selections, and four piano selections. They also traveled to Reconciliation Park to learn about the Tulsa Massacre in Greenwood. Fellowship activities included pool time, playing the “cup” game, and exploring Tulsa’s outdoor Gathering Place.

The youth also played multiple selections for Fellowship Lutheran Church’s Sunday morning worship service and played for the Hispanic church plant hosted by Fellowship Lutheran. The youth and adults appreciate all of your prayers and support!

If you have questions about the youth handbell choir, please contact Julie Assel, Director of Handbells and Youth Instrumental Music
