As part of Pioneer Institute's ongoing research and work in support of U.S History and Civics instruction in Massachusetts and the nation, the Institute will host a forum featuring Pulitzer Prize winning author, James M. McPherson, of Princeton University. 
 
Professor McPherson's address, "The Legacy of Lincoln and the Civil War," will be followed by a panel discussion about the appropriate role of U.S. History and Civics in K-12 education. Confirmed panelists include: Sandra Stotsky, Professor Emeritus the University of Arkansas; Robert Pondiscio of CitizenshipFirst; and Meira Levinson of the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
