The Small Business Administration (SBA) Gives the Green Light for a Disaster Declaration in Sangamon County

If your business was affected by the severe storms and flooding that occurred in Sangamon County between June 29 and July 2, 2023, you may be eligible for low-interest federal disaster loans. The Small Business Administration (SBA) has set up a Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Springfield where you can speak with customer service representatives about the SBA’s disaster loan program, learn about the application process, and get help completing your application. The center is open through this Friday, November 17, Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointment is necessary, so stop by and get the help you need to recover!

What Types of Disaster Loans are Available?

• Home Disaster Loans – Loans to homeowners or renters to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate and personal property, including automobiles.

What are the Credit Requirements?

• Credit History – Applicants must have a credit history acceptable to SBA.

• Repayment – Applicants must show the ability to repay all loans.

The SBA has opened a Disaster Loan Outreach Office in Springfield to answer questions that applicants might have.
