Attention Boat Owners Along C-5 Canal:
SFWMD Advises Residents to Expect Fluctuations of Water Levels Due to Repair of S-25 Structure
Repairs require operating gates with crane starting Thursday Jan. 24

Miami, FL - A utomated operation of the S-25 water control structure gates will be unavailable starting Thursday, Jan. 24, due to required repairs to the hydraulic lift system.  The S-25 gate will be operated by crane during the repair, which is estimated to take 60 days to complete.  If water conditions require the opening of S-25 during this time the lack of automatic control will result in larger than normal water level variations, which could impact vessels tied or moored upstream of the structure.

For up-to-date information on this repair you can contact the SFWMD Miami-Dade County Service Representative Armando Vilaboy at (305) 513-3420 Extension 7249 or avilaboy@sfwmd.gov .
