This time of year our high school aged players begin to think about college and what kind of hockey they will play after they graduate. AHAI has just the event to answer all your questions… COLLEGE HOCKEY NIGHT. Come join us for an informational meeting on hockey after high school and what options are available.

Register Your Event for the 9th Annual World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend!
The World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend, October 5-6, 2019, is a global opportunity for girls to try out hockey as a new sport. In 2018, over 120 locations across the United States celebrated the 8th annual IIHF World Girls' Ice Hockey Weekend, and thousands of participants have taken part in the editions since 2011. Women's ice hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in the world thanks to events like this one and similar programs that are being run in many countries. Want to help girls in Illinois join in the fun? This is a great and easy way to do so!

The USOPC & Nike Launch Free Online Course, "Coaching Girls"
The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and Nike recently launched Coaching Girls, a free online course as part of the overall How to Coach Kids platform that gives coaches gender-specific tools to build a culture that’s girl-inclusive, and makes coaches aware of the unique challenges girls face in terms of puberty, body image, physical safety and social pressure. Please take the time read the releases below from the USOPC and Nike.

Teaming up to celebrate women in sports and promote gender equality, Deerfield based Magellan Corporation, together with Billie Jean King Enterprises, announce the launch of the Magellan Corporation Women’s Hockey Showcase in Chicago, October 18-20.

Among the more than 35 Olympians playing in the four-game weekend are Kendall Coyne Schofield, Megan Bozek, Hilary Knight, Marie-Philip Poulin and Noora Raty. The ambassador coaches include Cammi Granato, Jayna Hefford and Angela Ruggiero, all Hockey Hall of Famers and gold medal winners in the Winter Olympics, with Ruggiero currently serving as a member of the International Olympic Committee.
BE A STEP aHEAD!
The Chicago Blackhawks, AHAI and  Athletico Physical Therapy are proud to announce the 9th year of the A Step aHead Program. The goal of the A Step aHead Program is to educate the youth hockey community on concussion awareness, prevention and treatment as well as to provide FREE baseline neurocognitive testing to AHAI members. A Step aHead testing is available for AHAI members ages 11-18 through November 1, 2019.
