We had a bit of a shock on Tuesday, July 20th. We were called in for a meeting at Lumpkin County Planning and Zoning. Long story short, issues with live fire.

Hi Lumpkin County,

If you are a 2A supporter, believe in self defense, mindset and awareness for adults & teens, support charity fundraisers for victims of sexual abuse and acts of violence for Racheal's Rest, family bonding, Continuing Education for Law Enforcement Officers and Military, shooting sports, empowering ladies, helping community leaders, learning to use your voice, and believe that non lethal, less then lethal and firearms training to protect yourself and others is important, then we need your help.

We are located on Porter Springs Road in Lumpkin County in Dahlonega, GA. The Complete Combatant, LLC is a full GO on 99% of our classes, as a matter of fact we just renewed our business license in Lumpkin County for all aspects of our biz BUT the live fire.

We are not being shut down in any way but we are going to have to work very hard to have the live fire portion of our classes allowed because the neighbors are very unhappy with the noise. We were unaware that this was a neighborhood issue and we are willing to compromise.....lets hope they are!

This property is not zoned for this type of commercial use. It is zoned for agricultural/farming. There have been some noise complaints. There are NO noise ordinances in Lumpkin. WE CAN HAVE A SPECIAL AGREEMENT TO ALLOW US TO SHOOT ON THE PROPERTY. That is what we are trying to do now and Planning & Zoning is very helpful.

PLEASE HELP US KEEP OUR RANGE, EVEN IF WE HAVE TO REDUCE CLASSES, WE WILL STILL BE ABLE TO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY.

There are 3 ways you CAN HELP. If you do choose to help, please do so with kindness, respect and grace. We don't need anger, dirty looks and confrontations. We need to show them who WE are, and who YOU are, so they respect our position and want us in their county. We can't control what goes on around us but we can control ourselves.

*Please title everything "In support of Brian Hill and Shelley Hill of The Complete Combatant on Porter Springs Road.

On a side note, we love Dahlonega. We love this community. We are building a house a mile from the range and retiring here so this unfortunate event matters to our hearts, our minds and financial wellbeing. We have 2 memorial gardens on property. My dad died at my birthday in May 2020 and Brian’s mom passed 6 weeks later. We have 2 Willow Tree gardens that are Memorials, we would never jeopardize being here, so if we knew there was an issue, we would have made concessions. We are willing to lose half of our income, modify and remove courses to show good faith with our neighbors.

The 2 most important weekends are 2 annual events called The Mingle and The Quest because they benefit victims of sexual abuse and acts of violence.

MAY: The Mingle is a weekend event for ladies in the firearms industry and fundraising for our featured charity called Racheal’s Rest (through Broken Chains International).

OCTOBER: The Quest is a 3 day weekend event for Red Dot shooters and fundraising for our featured charity called Racheal’s Rest (through Broken Chains International).

We have raised tens of thousands of dollars to help survivors of sexual abuse and acts of violence and we want to raise MORE!

We are happy to work with our neighbors and the county. We love it here and we want to be a part of this awesome community. We are staying positive that this can be resolved with some good ole fashioned “communication and compromise”.

Sincerely,

Brian and Shelley
