Attention Registered and Recorded Hunter Judges
Reminder: Jogging for Soundness
When officiating Hunter classes and sections that include a jog for soundness at Federation Licensed Competitions, be certain the horse or pony completes the jog (trots a circle on a loose rein) before sending a numeric score. Do not send a numeric score for the jumping round until the jog is complete, and you have evaluated the soundness of the horse or pony.

For more helpful jog reminders, including protocol for a second jog, visit USHJA Licensed Officials’ Resources for the USEF/USHJA Jog FAQ. Visit the USEF COVID-19 Rule Modifications for specifics on HU118 and HU121.
