TOSA Youth Tri Families,

Our event takes place next Saturday, August 9th! Fingers crossed for good weather. Here are a couple of quick reminders about our triathlon.

Packet pick up is NEXT FRIDAY (August 8th).

Please come to the Grand Hall at TOSA Pool anytime between 8am and 8pm. Each athlete must be present with a parent or guardian with ID. Athletes will receive a race bag with their bib and T-shirt and a race tattoo (bib number writing on their arms and legs). If, for some reason, your athlete will not be able to attend the race, please e-mail us at contactus@tosapool.com and let us know.

Before the race.

Your athlete is responsible for understanding the course and the USAT rules (scroll to the last 3 pages). Please review the route map and 2025 FAQs. Links for each of these and for our race day schedule are on our website HERE.

Arrive a few minutes before your athlete’s scheduled warm-up. Athletes should be wearing their swimsuit and have their goggles, and optional swim caps. Each athlete will have their own lane for the swim. They should be holding their race bag that contains their shirt (bib attached to FRONT), shoes, optional socks, shorts/pants, and a towel. Parents will hold onto their athlete’s bikes while they complete the swim.

Staging: FUN athletes will run first, youngest to oldest. CHALLENGE athletes will run next.

During the race.

We have lots of volunteers to guide your athlete along the course. Be prepared to part with your athlete after they receive their ankle timer at the information tent near the pool entrance. Please do not follow your athlete into the staging area. Watch the swim then hand off their bike at the transition, and then head over to The Landing to see their big finish.

Please note: Parents of CHALLENGE athletes are not allowed to give assistance in the transition. This is a USAT rule. Please let us know if advance if your athlete needs other accommodations.

Feel free to cheer big - bring your signs and noise makers!

After the race.

Athletes pick up their bikes from the bike racks that will be positioned just outside the pool gates near the transition. Your athlete will need their bib to receive their bike. Walk your bike back to your vehicle, going around the south side of the pool near the train tracks. Please do not walk your bike back through The Landing, as others will still be finishing their race.

Awards ceremony.

Results will be posted as they become available and we will have a quick awards ceremony at The Landing after the last wave finishes. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each gender/age group of the CHALLENGE athletes.

WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS: We have 200 athletes signed up for this event, but we are still looking to fill key volunteer positions. Parents and older siblings - we need your help to make this event fun and safe. You will be able to watch your athlete on the course when it is their time to go. Please consider signing up HERE to help. All volunteers will receive a $10 gift card to use at TOSA Pool or The Landing beer garden.

We look forward to seeing you all this weekend.
