Westborough Youth & Family Services (WYFS), in collaboration with Westborough Connects, seeks community members to participate in a FREE virtual training session aimed to foster resilience while facing the mental health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program is called Reach Out Westborough and it is funded through a grant from the Metro West Health Foundation. 
Goals of the training:

  • Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health distress, beyond day-to-day stress.
  • Address the unique ways that specific groups may be vulnerable to distress due to the pandemic.
  • Identify tools and strategies to manage distress.
  • Learn how to support others who are in distress.
  • Learn about resources and access help.
YOUNG ADULTS
For young adults ages 18-26 living in Westborough or currently away at school with a permanent residence in Westborough.

Training led by Michelle Drolsbaugh, a licensed therapist, and Brooke B, a young adult, of Minding Your Mind.

UNPAID CAREGIVERS
For unpaid caregivers living in Westborough or caring for someone who lives in Westborough. Trainings led by mental health professionals from Open Sky Community Services.

Two training sessions are currently being offered - one for parents caring for their minor or adult children - and one for adults caring for other adults.
May 4th
6:30-8pm
This session is primarily geared towards parents caring for minor or adult children with special and intensive needs or chronic illness.
May 7th
12-1:30pm
This session is primarily geared towards adults caring for parents, partners, spouses or other relatives.
