Reality happens. We all live in a real world. Things happen. We can either deal with them or ignore them. The trick is to know when to do each. We may not be able to solve all of the issues we see or hear about in the world around us. Where they are well out of our sphere of influence like petty politics in our nation's capital, we may as well as ignore them. Where they are close to home like a leaky roof, noisy transmission, pesky vehicle warning light or a broken relationship, we should deal with them.
We can, always, put our blinders on and ignore the reality that is all around us. The leaks gets worse until the building falls down. The vehicle will eventually quit running, usually when we are far from home. We can ignore the broken relationship and bitterness will just continue to grow until, many times, something tragic happens.
Evading reality will not make it go away. Only dealing with it head on can do that. We each have our own reality that needs to be dealt with. Let's be problem solvers instead of problem avoiders, putting them behind us and moving on.
