WHO IS BETTER FOR THE ECONOMY

By Pat Ferguson, Auburn Indivisible

Reprinted from the June 19, 2023, Indivisible Newsletter

The GOP and some of your MAGA friends and relatives are pretty consistently saying that Republicans are better for the economy than Democrats. What can you say to rebut this? There are frequent references to the good old days under Reagan. Robert Reich, previous Secretary of Labor under Clinton and a member of Obama’s Economic Advisory Committee has this to say, “Just a random reminder that trickle-down economics was invented by conservatives in the 1980s to justify massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. It’s been nothing short of a disaster.”

During our visits to campus, we engage with students on topics of current interest through interactive surveys.

The ROOSEVELT-KENNEDY DINNER

By Mary Helen Fein

The Roosevelt-Kennedy Dinner, held on June 10, in Sun City Roseville’s Timber Ballroom, was a fun and informative gathering of Placer County Democrats. I was happy to be there, as the event had sold out. It felt wonderful to be in a large group of enlightened and like-minded Democrats. There was a congenial buzz of conversation as the event got started.

THE AUBURN SENIOR CENTER

By Rosalie Wohlfromm

The Auburn Senior Center is very dear to me. I remember bringing my late father to the center years ago. He would visit with friends while I went to my part-time job. Whenever I picked him up, he was happy and regaled me with stories. Back then it was located at the DeWitt Center, right next door to the theater, and we were paying $1 a year. The building was torn down and talk of a community center was bandied about.

DONATE TO AADC TO SUPPORT OUR 2024 ELECTION CAMPAIGN HEADQUARTERS

By AADC Staff

AADC would like to once again establish an election year Campaign Headquarters. This was a great success during the 2020 election year. Members gathered at the office and worked together effectively. We depend on our members and supporters for the funding of such a space. Please consider donating to support our headquarters. A Campaign headquarters will be highly effective in allowing AADC to support the candidates who support us and who will legislate for our community.
