ANCESTRY LIBRARY EDITION NOW AVAILABLE IN-HOUSE

Beginning February 1, Ancestry Library Edition will be available for in-house use here at AHPL. Search census, military, immigration, and vital records, as well as many other historical documents to learn more about your family history.

Board Game Nights

Detroit Mystery Author D.E. Johnson on Eloise Hospital (in partnership with the Friends of Auburn Hills Public Library)

The Auburn Hills Public Library and the Friends of Auburn Hills Public Library welcome D.E. Johnson, author of the Will Anderson series, for a presentation and book signing. Johnson will present his research on the legendary Eloise Hospital, a local insane asylum which inspired his novel, Detroit Breakdown .

Whether you're looking to write your first resume or update your existing resume, stop by one of our resume workshops. Each workshop begins with an engaging presentation about writing a strong resume, followed by work time with optional one-on-one assistance. You may bring your own device or use one of the laptops provided by the Library.

You're enjoying the warmth at the Library with a book when suddenly, the lights go out--when they come back on, you realize you are trapped at the Library! Will you be able to find your way out of this tricky escape room? Only time will tell...bring a group of friends, or get paired up with some future friends! There are three slots available for groups of up to 10 people. Please register for only ONE time slot.

Giving Back With a T.W.I.S.T.

Come donate your time to help kids and animals. Learn a simple technique for making fleece blankets for Project Linus, and help us make toys for shelter dogs. We are Tweens In Service Together!

Little Explorers

 What do you get when you combine a story, free play, and sensory activity stations? A sensory sensation! We’ll have lots of fun as we explore, create, and meet new friends! Sensory stations may get messy, so dress accordingly. This program is for parent and child to enjoy together! Family Storytime

Storytime and activities will be geared towards ages 0-6.

Bring your whole family for our Saturday morning storytime! This program will feature books, songs, activities, and a craft. This program is meant to be time for the whole family to enjoy the Library. It will occasionally feature guest presenters and themed activities.

Families can spend quality time together and build with LEGO! Each month will feature a new building theme. Completed builds will be displayed until the next LEGO meeting. Registration is not required.

The Come and Play program is for children ages 1-4. Visit the Library for a story, a song, and then free play with our toys. We’ll have plenty of activities to help shake off the winter cabin fever!

Preschool Storytime

Join us for rhymes, songs, finger plays, and stories! This storytime is for ages 3-5, and will include age-appropriate activities. Preschool Storytime provides a wonderful opportunity to practice listening, following directions, and getting ready for preschool.

Toddler Time
(ages 18-35 months with a caregiver)

Toddler Time is for children ages 18-35 months with a parent or caregiver. Bring in your toddlers for a special bonding time just for them. We’ll read books and learn new rhymes and songs, along with lots of interactive fun. Free play will follow each session.

It's Elementary

Join us for hands-on exploration at the
Library! Each week we will learn about a new subject and then create and experiment with activities based around this topic. Check the calendar or visit the Library to learn about the theme will be covering each week! Our first week, we'll be practicing coding and learning how to turn a banana into a musical instrument.

Rock 'N Rhyme
(Ages up to 18 months with a caregiver)

Babies up to 18 months with a parent or caregiver will enjoy about 20 minutes of nursery rhymes, songs, stories, and bubbles, followed by free play for those who wish to stay. We will often have fun with instruments or scarves, too! Rock ‘N Rhyme is a great opportunity to meet other caregivers and their babies in a relaxing and supportive environment. Registration is not required.
