MICHIGAN ACTIVITY PASS:
SEASON 12 BEGINS SOON!

The 12th season of the Michigan Activity Pass (MAP) program kicks off May 24, 2019. Sponsored by The Library Network, MAP made its debut in Fall 2007, and now includes every public library in the state of Michigan, and 440 cultural partner destinations. For
2019-2020, TLN and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will add six new destinations to the MAP program. To use MAP, all you need is an active library card. For more information on how to use MAP and a list of participating institutions, click here .

Whether you're looking to write your first resume, or update your existing resume, stop by one of our resume workshops. Each workshop begins with an engaging presentation about writing a strong resume, followed by work time with optional one-on-one assistance. You may bring your own device or use one of the laptops provided by the Library.

Toddler Time

Toddler Time is for children ages 18-35 months with a parent or caregiver. Bring in your toddlers for a special bonding time just for them. We’ll read books and learn new rhymes and songs, along with lots of interactive fun. Free play will follow each session.

It's Elementary
(Grades K-3)

Join us for hands-on exploration at the
Library! Each week we will learn about a new subject and then create and experiment with activities based around this topic. Check the calendar or visit the Library to learn about the theme will be covering each week! Our first week, we'll be practicing coding and learning how to turn a banana into a musical instrument.

Rock 'N Rhyme
(Ages up to 18 months with a caregiver)

Babies up to 18 months with a parent or caregiver will enjoy about 20 minutes of nursery rhymes, songs, stories, and bubbles, followed by free play for those who wish to stay. We will often have fun with instruments or scarves, too! Rock ‘N Rhyme is a great opportunity to meet other caregivers and their babies in a relaxing and supportive environment. Registration is not required.

Preschool Storytime
(Ages 3 – Pre-K)

Join us for rhymes, songs, finger plays, and stories! This storytime is for ages 3-5, and will include age-appropriate activities. Preschool Storytime provides a wonderful opportunity to practice listening, following directions, and getting ready for preschool.

Little Explorers
(ages 2-5 with a caregiver)

 What do you get when you combine a story, free play, and sensory activity stations? A sensory sensation! We’ll have lots of fun as we explore, create, and meet new friends! Sensory stations may get messy, so dress accordingly. This program is for parent and child to enjoy together! Family Storytime
(Ages 0-6)

Storytime and activities will be geared towards ages 0-6.

Bring your whole family for our Saturday morning storytime! This program will feature books, songs, activities, and a craft. This program is meant to be time for the whole family to enjoy the Library. It will occasionally feature guest presenters and themed activities.

Family LEGO Club
(All Ages)

Families can spend quality time together and build with LEGO! Each month will feature a new building theme. Completed builds will be displayed until the next LEGO meeting. Registration is not required.
American Sign Language Club-Basic
(Grades K-5)
Monday, May 6
6:00-7:00 pm

 This program will cover the basics of American Sign Language, and will be run by a student teacher from Madonna University. The basic session of the program is intended as an introduction; participants will be introduced to sign language through games, crafts, and educational activities. Registration in advance for the whole series.

The Friends' Board voted to approve a gift for $3,800 to the Library, to fulfill their wish list. This brings the total to over $35,000 given since 2010.

Spring Silent Basket Auction: May 1-17. Baskets will be located on the main level along the stair rail. We have some great basket items, including tickets to Meadowbrook Theatre, Oakland University basketball tickets, gift certificates to area restaurants and businesses, along with other terrific items. Come check them out, and bid on your favorite!
