ASD Board is a Board of Distinction
The ASD Board of Directors was one of only 10 large districts in the state recognized by the Washington State School Directors Association (WSSDA) as a Board of Distinction. The Board of Distinction program recognizes school boards that demonstrate alignment with the Washington School Board Standards. The rigorous standards include non-negotiable goals for student achievement, providing learning essentials, evaluation of the superintendent and a focus on closing the achievement gap.
The ASD has an incredibly committed, passionate school board and they are most deserving of this statewide recognition.

Auburn Community Youth Re-Engagement Event
Did you know someone with a high school diploma earns $8,000 more annually, has better health and lives longer than someone without a diploma?
Do you know an Auburn student who didn't finish high school or earn a GED? If so, we have an event for them!
The ASD invites any Auburn student under age 21 who did not complete high school to attend the Youth Re-Engagement event, 5-7 p.m., December 4 at the Community and Event Center, 910 9th St SE, Auburn, WA 98002.
This is a great opportunity to learn about options to complete high school or obtain a GED. We will have light refreshments and door prizes, too. Please pass this along to anyone who might benefit.
For more information, please contact the Family Engagement and Student Success department at 253-931-4712.

Center for Educational Effectiveness (CEE) Survey Closes Friday!
The ASD is committed to continuous improvement. It is important for us to know how our parents/guardians, staff and students regard the job we are doing in providing a quality education for children.
To gather input, CEE surveys are being conducted this fall. The survey quantifies strengths and opportunities for improvement based upon the nine characteristics of high performing schools.
Information from the surveys will be combined from all of our schools to develop a district profile and individual schools will receive information to support their school improvement process.
The window for the
parent survey closes
Friday, November 30. If you have not provided your input, please complete the survey by tomorrow. The survey is available in English and Spanish. If you have students in more than one building, please complete a survey for each building.
We value your feedback and need your insight for continuous improvement.
