The Company

Texscape Services is a full-service commercial landscape-maintenance and -installation company focused on the commercial sector, serving over 600 properties on a weekly basis. The Houston, Texas-based company also provides landscape services, as well as irrigation, drainage, lighting and full arbor care. The company’s sizable footprint in the Texas market allows Texscape to serve as a single point of contact for commercial property owners managing a portfolio of assets.

The Deal

Audax Private Equity portfolio company Monarch Landscape Companies acquired Texscape Services in the first week of October. The deal, Monarch’s second add-on under Audax ownership, reinforces the company’s existing presence in Texas. Los Angeles-based Monarch currently operates in five states, which also include California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado, and serves a broad set of commercial and corporate clients, municipalities and HOAs. Monarch completed its first add-on in the last week of August, when it acquired Sunrise Landscape, based in Livermore, California.

The Thesis

Audax completed its initial investment in Monarch in March 2022. Audax will continue to invest behind the company’s growth initiatives, including accelerating Monarch’s established acquisition strategy, building capabilities in new and existing service lines, and expanding the company’s geographic footprint.
