A MESSAGE FROM THE HEALTH COMMISSIONER
Dear Community Members:
Confirmed cases of coronavirus have been steadily low in Medina County, but we have started to see some clusters of new cases here and there. We are hopeful our community members will continue to take actions to keep infections low, but with summer activities in full swing and the increase in
testing in our community, we may see this data fluctuate. And if it does, that doesn't necessarily mean we should be alarme d at this point. Instead I'd like to use it as a reminder to still take coronavirus seriously.
Now that we are a couple weeks into businesses being open again, you may hear more publically if a business has a staff member who has tested for coronavirus. The business community here in Medina County is dedicated to protecting their patrons. We have asked them to be vigilant in following the safety guidelines from the state and have encouraged the community to support them by resuming normal shopping and dining activities. But as we know, the virus is still circulating and that anyone, of any age or background can get it. A confirmed case in a company does not mean they did something wrong but instead should remind us that the protective actions we are taking are still very important.
With that being said, I encourage you to have compassion towards these situations and know all measures are being taken to get those businessesback up and running. How well Medina County does in keeping the spread of coronavirus down depends on how well we as community members do in protecting one another. Social distancing, wearing your mask, and avoiding situations that could be of higher risk for you are all actions I hope to see us all continue to take.

Have a great week!
Mike Kovack
