Message from Executive Director Marian LeMay
April 2018
Dear GABC Members,
May 12, 2018 will mark my 10 year anniversary with GABC. This is a milestone that naturally causes one to reflect. As a result, I have come to the conclusion that I have accomplished everything I wanted to do at GABC and it’s time for me to move on. The GABC Board of Directors is still in place to provide support and we have several excellent candidates for a new Executive Director. The organization is healthy and has a very fine reputation. My prediction is that by this time next year, it will have met its goals and branched out into new and exciting directions.
My last day is expected to be May 14, 2018, which is the date of the GABC
Kamingespraech
with Consul General Horlemann—an event I am organizing and responsible for. This is one of the best jobs I have ever had and it’s been an absolute pleasure and honor to work with such smart, capable and friendly members, partners in other organizations, and especially, members of our own GABC Board of Directors and Young Professionals Group. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
As for me personally, I don’t have a new position to move into and that’s intentional. I need a few months to think. To gather ideas and friends and potential collaborators. I have a completely new creative venture in mind having to do with historic estates, gardens and museums—old loves. If these interest you, too, or if you've always wanted to contact me about a collaboration, don’t be shy—send me an email or connect on LinkedIn.
In the meantime, if we were already friends, then I want to remain friends. I’m interested to follow your developments and to stay in touch. After May 14, 2018, you can reach me with the following contact info:
