Greetings!
Month 1 of 12 is done for our year already! And it’s been a busy one. Committee chairs have been busy contacting their new committees and setting up meeting dates, board members have been busy learning their new roles, and some members have been busy attending the virtual SIA conference and/or in-person Soroptimist Development Retreat in Reno.
With Month 2 comes our first Service Opportunity of my President’s Project. Look for a special Sign-Up Genius this week to secure your spot for Saturday, August 13th, where we will be helping the Catholic Ladies Relief Society at the Chico Food Locker, with their intake and organization of food from the Chico Blue Bag project. We only need 10-12 Soroptimist members for about 2 1/2 hours. More details will be in the coming special email.
Also, in month 2 we have our first board meeting. I am looking forward to working with our new board and anticipate a very successful year. I’m not planning any major club changes this year but am always open to suggestions from our members to improve or streamline our club experience. Please see the club calendar for dates, times, and locations for these meetings. Although all members are welcome to attend, the board members vote at the board meetings, forwarding passed motions to the entire club for voting at the following business meeting.

~8/13 Service: Chico Food Locker (see above)
~9/7 Business Meeting: Our first club luncheon at Canyon Oaks Country Club.
~9/17 Club Retreat: in Chico, a day to dig deeper into our club, our mission, and our individual journey in service
~9/24 Service: Butte County Girl Scouts Program Center. We will be partnering with the CSUC Women in Construction and local Girl Scouts volunteers to build two storage sheds and several picnic tables. More specifics to come.
~10/1 District 1 Fall Meeting: look for the official call and details in the 8/15 SNR e blast.
And don’t forget our last month of summer lunches and coffee meetups. Connect with your committees and fellow members this month and get ready for our return in September to our regular schedule.
