President's Report
Hello YMI brothers I greet you with good news September is here. I don’t know about you but I have been looking forward to this date since last year in September. It’s just that all the fun that we have while we are out here that it just makes all of us look like a bunch of kids at Disney Land, everyone so happy and cheery. Well it’s here we will have a good time observing and respecting all of the safety guidelines that we are all living with for the past few months; Masks, distancing, and by all means if you are sick during those days please just stay home for everyone’s safety.
Please bring your cash so that you can also pay for your YMI renewal membership on that day.
The Sebastopol YMI council # 54 had their outdoor annual Steak Dinner last Month and everything went very smooth very successful, distancing was observed, masks were worn and everyone enjoyed a great meal as brothers of the YMI.
I don’t see why we can’t have our own successful event like they did.
It’s going to be a farm theme so come dressed like a farmer “you City slickers” come and reconnect with the brotherhood.
The Bocce tournament will begin as soon as you get here you will get assigned to a team and start playing right away so don’t miss out on this opportunity to enjoy yourselves at one of the few meetings that we will be able to legally have this year.
The Bocce boys have agreed to do the cooking for that day, I asked them what was the menu going to be and they said steak, and maybe some BBQ Oysters, BBQ Beans, and Salad, possibly Sausages as finger food just to get the taste buds up and running. I don’t know but just writing about it it’s making my mouth water guys.
So don’t forget to bring your registration form and your check book to pay for your dues dudes.
Remember, this event is a BYOB.
Sincerely ; Angel E. Vera

There is a great need for a member to step up and volunteer for the Financial Sec. Office. Your officers will help you be successful. Much of the duties have been disseminated and the Financial Sec.'s position is primarily membership and GC reporting, and a few other responsibilities.
Please volunteer.

Brothers
Well as this virus has still slowed us down the Grand
Council is remaining active. They are encouraging us to make a great effort to remain gathering, using social distancing procedures. Some councils are using Zoom, others teleconferencing, and still other meeting face to face, as Sebastopol does.
Grand President Mike Amato , came up here on the 22 of July, for his official visit, hosted by council 54, Sebastopol. They prepared a delicious steak BBQ dinner. Though the turnout was hampered by the fear of the virus, it was nice to gather with the brothers. Mike Amato spoke briefly encouraging council to find way to continue to gather. It was announced that Council 54 was chosen as the Council of the Year. Most large events as the Bocce tournament, Pasta and Bingo and the Italian Day Parade, have been cancelled. Most of us are looking to returning to normal YMI events in 2021. The Red and White mass has been scheduled for March 2021, hosted by Br. Darrell Fonseca 2nd Grand Vice.
I know this pandemic has been hard on all of us, we may not know how to cope with it all. One way for me has been to think of others in need. The are many organizations looking for volunteers, Catholic Charities, Redwood Empire Food Bank, to name two. One way for me is to donate blood. I have done it twice since April. There is always a need for blood to help other in need.
