Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Bob Doyle. He is at Shepherd of the Valley on Western Reserve Road recuperating from heart surgery. We all wish you well Bob!

Summer Party Success !

The Summer Party on July 29th was a huge success! The rain tried to take the day away from us, but nothing can stop a good luau. We all enjoyed a delicious meal of roast pig and sides prepared by Choppers BBQ Shack House (Dennis Bish). Topping it all off with rum cocktails and festive decorations. A lot of the beautiful colors of the night are owed to everyone that dressed up in their Hawaiian finest, as you can see in the pictures below.

A big thank you to all who helped with appetizers, set up, desserts and clean up!

SUNFISH DONATION

Another Sunfish was added to the PCC Sailing School's fleet of training boats! Janet Byrne, friend of Ron and Lori Gallagher, recently donated her late husband's (Chuck's) Sunfish. Chuck and Jan sailed together for many years on Lake Arthur and the Sunfish was their first sailboat. "Chuck would be happy that it will be used to teach others to sail", said Jan. The boat is in excellent shape according to Ron and is a great addition to the school's fleet. Thank you Jan!

Donnelly's Cash In Their

Winning Ticket.

During the last fall work party, a raffle was held in support of the PCC Sailing School. One of the many prizes up for grabs was a "hull cleaning" to be completed in the spring, offered by Ron Gallagher. The lucky winners of that prize were Sue and Pat Donnelly!

Ron spent the day applying some elbow grease (ok, it was a buffer) and some 3M hull restorer to bring out the shine. Word has it that the polished hull added and extra knot in boat speed to Pat and Sue's boat! OK, maybe it just looks faster, but no doubt looks good!

Keep an eye out for another raffle this fall. Ron plans to offer this service again (1) for next year. So, stuff that bag with tickets if you want a shiny hull too!

Babes on the Bay

August 19 1PM-6PM

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Babes on the Bay will be an introductory sailing class for LADIES ONLY! Join us at PCC as we de-mystify sailing. We will begin with water safety, boat terminology, how to read wind and water, why does the boat heel, points of sail, as well as tacking and jibing (turning).

Weather permitting, we will go out on the water with our volunteer PCC skippers! Skippers - we need your help! Please txt, call, or email Lidia if you're willing to assist with giving rides!

We will finish with a capsize recovery demo. Optional pot-luck dinner to follow. Message us with any questions!
