From portable academic lessons to mental health and wellness tools, iSOSY equips students with the support they need to succeed.

This time of year, it’s important to remember that education is not just about academics, it’s about belonging, stability, and hope. By working together, we can ensure that every student has a chance to thrive. Wishing everyone a successful and stable school year!

August Is National Back to School Month:

Tips to Stay Balanced

August marks National Back to School Month, a time filled with excitement, anticipation, and often—stress. Whether you're a parent, teacher, or student, adjusting to new routines and checking off long supply lists can feel overwhelming. To stay grounded:

  • create a simple checklist
  • break tasks into manageable steps
  • set a budget before shopping to avoid financial stress and take advantage of sales or secondhand options
  • ease into new routines gradually—start adjusting bedtimes and wake-up times a week or two early

Most importantly, give yourself grace. Transitions take time, and small daily habits like staying hydrated, taking breaks, and keeping evenings calm can go a long way in creating a smoother, more positive start to the school year.

Every year on August 6th we celebrate Farmworker Appreciation Day—a special time to recognize the hard work, strength, and dedication of farmworkers across the country. On this day, we acknowledge the hard work of those helping in the fields, those that are supporting their family with work obligations, or balancing school and work. Farmworkers are the backbone of our food system, and this day is about honoring your contributions, your resilience, and your story. Take a moment to be proud of where you come from and all that you do. It may not always feel like it, but you are appreciated by so many—today and every day.

Money matters—and learning how to manage it is a powerful step toward independence and success. On National Finance Awareness Day (August 14), we shine a light on the importance of financial literacy, especially for mobile farmworker youth working hard to build a better future.

Learning how to manage money isn’t just about numbers—it’s also about making thoughtful choices and feeling more confident about your future. Every small step you take can make a big difference.

Whether you're saving for school, helping your family, or just trying to understand your paycheck, iSOSY has tools to help you grow your money smarts. Check out this list of lessons:
