God's work. Our hands.
RISE AGAINST HUNGER - JOIN US!
September 10th
Join us on God's Work, Our Hands Sunday as we package bulk food into small servings for shipping to areas that suffer from famine and malnutrition. We are partnering with Rise Against Hunger, a ministry that feeds starving people all over the world. On September 10th we need fifty volunteers from the congregation and day school families to pour, weigh, seal and box 10,000 meals (amazingly it only takes about two hours). The fun begins at 1:30 pm and we should be finished by mid-afternoon.

The Rise Against Hunger folks bring the food, packaging and all equipment and we provide the willing hands to put the meal packages together. This is a great project for individuals and families....there are tasks that even kids and older folks who need to sit can accomplish, so everyone is able to participate.

Beginning in August there will be sign-up sheets for you to volunteer and more information on how this project will be done. Keep Sunday September 10th on your calendar as "God's Work, Our Hands" Sunday!

MAKER FUN FACTORY
Created for a Purpose

During the week of July 24-28 more than a hundred children gathered for lessons, singing, game and snacks as they learned in the Maker's Fun Factory that they were Created for a Purpose.  At Christ's Wednesday Church, they shared that good news with family members through songs that they'd been taught they were made with a purpose.  Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make this year's VBS a great and fruitful success.

BUILDING AND GROUNDS FOR AUGUST

KIDS CAFE

The food is provided by the Brazos Valley Food Bank and Christ Lutheran is serving  the meals every Thursday. We've had over 30 folks from the congregation and the Day School sign up to help...now we need you to put your names on the schedule on the Heartline so we can know each Thursday will be staffed. If you have questions about the program call Jeanette Fair at 277-8035.   Thank you to all for helping with feeding hungry kids!

An old fashion Quilting Bee will be held in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, July 16th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Men, women and children are invited to participate in this ministry of love to people all around the world. No sewing skill or actual quilting stiches are involved..beginners can learn everything they need to know in about five minutes...and the only thing you need to bring is a pair of scissors to cut threads to "tie" the quilts. We have fun and fellowship and there's always refreshments! Join us July 16th.
