Reaching Our World For Christ
From Your Associational Mission Strategist
I want to thank everyone who prayed for our HBA Pittsburgh mission team. We had a successful week in Pittsburgh as we served with Faithbridge Community Church in McKees Rocks. We primarily did a lot of outreach leading up to a community block party. The most exciting part of the block party were the ten baptisms that took place at the end of the event. There were individuals from young to old and with multi-ethic backgrounds. God is doing an amazing work through this church and I am grateful that our association gets to partner with them in this ministry.

I want to encourage the leaders of our churches to register for the “SPARK” Conference that will be a virtual on-line conference on August 28th. There will be many break-out sessions in different categories that will greatly benefit the leaders of our churches. You can register online at: www.thesparkconference.com. If you are unable to attend this on-line, our association will be hosting a conference the first part of October. We will be working out the details and sending it out to the churches as soon as possible.

Our Annual meeting will be different this year because of the COVID Pandemic. Our leadership has decided that we will have an abbreviation of our meeting, but we will still have it at FBC Vienna on September 13th at 5:00 p.m. We are going to practice social distancing, so we are asking that each church have their Pastor, Executive Committee Rep, and an additional member to attend the meeting. We will be live streaming it on FBC Vienna Facebook page for others to join in with us. We will be taking care of some brief business, but then the rest of the hour will be worship and hearing a message from PJ Dunn who is our SW Regional Discipleship Consultant. I trust that those who cannot come to the meeting will join us on-line.

I am continuing to pray for each of our churches as we navigate through this pandemic. This is still a great time for ministry and for reaching others with the Gospel. We must stay focused on the mission that we have been called to and glorify God in all that we do!
