CDC Opens Today!
The CDC welcomes children and families to their renovated space TODAY. We are so excited to add babies and toddlers to our ministry. Remember, we provide preschool daycare and after school care for babies-6 th grade from
7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and we provide transportation to/from all Culpeper County Public Schools. So, there's plenty of room for preschoolers and after school children – please contact the CDC office to schedule a tour or for more information. We look forward to showing off our new space to the church at our “Open House” during “One Table, One Community” on August 26. 
Matching Gift Challenge -Current Total: $22,152.00!
Our renovated bathrooms will be opening soon, and the new HVAC system on the 2nd Floor is working well! Thank you for your generosity - we have raised $22,152.00 to date. Sunday, August 12 is "Restore Sunday," and we are asking everyone to make a contribution to the Matching Gift Challenge on that day. Remember, you can donate on line or by check (designating to "Matching Gift.) Every dollar we give between now and October 15 will be matched up to $75,000!
Reading Camp, August 6-8, 3rd-5th grade 9:00 a.m.-noon, FREE
Polish up your reading skills for the new school year with qualified teachers and assistants featuring games, writing, reading, and discussion. Snacks provided. Our plan is to continue to offer this service in the form of after-school tutoring in the fall for all grades one afternoon per week, followed by a family meal.  This ministry is in partnership with our own Maranatha Church. Volunteers needed — contact Jeanine .
A Night of Comedy & Magic with Dewayne Hill , August 11 - 5:00 p.m.
Eastern View High School We are excited to partner with Mountain View Community Church and Lifepoint Church to bring Dewayne Hill to Culpeper. He has appeared on America's Got Talent and Comedy Central - check him out here . The concert is free - donations will be accepted to benefit the opening of Christ-centered addiction recovery homes. Invite a friend!

August 5, Brandi Malchow - Brandi moved to Culpeper from Denver, CO in 2016 to work at the flour mill off of Route 29 and began attending CBC in spring 2017. She became a Christian 6 years ago. She's currently leading a dinner group and has been involved with the Culpeper Humane Society.
August 12, Susanne Dorsey - Susanne is one of the great personalities at CBC - you don't want to miss this Sunday!
August 19, Amy Martin - the incredible director of our Child Development Center.

Matt Butler in Concert, Thursday, August 16 at 7:00 p.m.
CBC is partnering with Spiritworks Foundation to bring Matt Butler to Culpeper for a concert in the worship center on Thursday, August 16. Matt did the powerful song “ Just One ” for the Documentary/Movie “ Generation Found. ” The concert is free.
Dinner Groups Starting! Dinner Groups are 8 to 12 people meeting once a month to share a meal with good conversation and getting to know one another in a small group setting. Dinner Groups begin again in September and will remain the same from the spring for our fall session.  If you would like to join a group, contact the church office or talk to Vita McCall or Ann Lucas. Please do so by August 31.
Senior Adult Activities
Game Day, August 15, 2:00-5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Come for the fun - stay for the games.
Outing to Shenandoah Valley Museum , August 23, leave church at 9:00 a.m. We will have lunch at The Village Square Restaurant . The cost of the museum is $8.
Lancaster Trip September 17 thru 19  We will enjoy Sight & Sound's production of “Jesus” as well as some great food, tours and shopping while we are there. We still have a few seats available. For more info or to sign up for any of the above, contact Hans .
Stephen Ministries
Pray for our team that is attending a Leader’s Conference for Stephen Ministries August 5-11. This fall our very own trained Stephen Leaders will be looking for congregation members who would like to grow in discipleship and distinctive Christian Care for other members of the church community. One Table, One Community, Celebration Sunday, August 26
We will celebrate ALL the work that happens in our facilities and all the partners we have with one worship service at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary on Sunday, August 26. The worship service will include 5 churches and more than a dozen partners. After the service, we will have lunch together. If you can help us with set up or lunch, please contact the church office .
Creative Space at Verdun A beautiful Art Studio at Verdun Adventure Bound is available for small groups and people who would like to explore personal growth through art and metaphor with Sara Bywaters-Baldwin from our pastoral staff and Amanda Findley, LCSW.
