A Message from the Principal of Academics
Dear Carondelet Families,
Welcome to a new school year! We’re so excited to welcome our students and families back to campus this week as we kick off the 2025–26 school year. Monday and Tuesday will be all about orientation: time for students to reconnect, meet new classmates, and get grounded for the year ahead. Classes officially begin on Wednesday, and our hallways are ready for the energy and spirit that only our students can bring.
We also have something special planned for parents, guardians, and grandparents this week: a Coffee Kickoff, happening Thursday, August 14, from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at the Carondelet Athletics Complex (CAC). This casual gathering is a great way to meet other families, connect with staff, and learn more about events and volunteer opportunities coming up this year. We’ll have coffee, pastries, and an Events Guide so you can start the year with all the key dates in hand. As a bonus, the first 30 guests to arrive will receive a Carondelet-branded mug—our small way of saying welcome back.
We’re looking forward to seeing your family on campus this week and walking alongside you in another year of growth, discovery, and connection.
Elizabeth Chaponot, Ph.D.
Principal of Academics

| | | Visiting Campus—What You Need to Know | |
New Raptor Visitor Management System
This year, Carondelet will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System to strengthen our program of campus safety for students. The Raptor system will better allow us to screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers in our schools and provide us with a safer environment for our students and staff.
Visitors will be asked to present an ID such as a Driver’s License. If a parent or guardian for any reason does not have a US government-issued ID, the school staff member can use any form of identification. Visitor names and date of birth are used to check against the national database of registered sex offenders. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any external parties.
The safety of our students is our highest priority and the Raptor Visitor Management System allows us to quickly identify those that may present a danger to our students. Thank you in advance for your understanding and your support in enhancing the school safety protocols at Carondelet.
If you have questions regarding the new system, please reach out to Front Office Manager Melyssa Sibal.

Schedule Changes: What You Need to Know
As we prepare to launch the new school year, we know many students are reviewing their schedules and wondering about possible changes. Students may request a schedule change through Thursday, August 22. For students enrolled in AP courses, there is an extended deadline of Wednesday, August 28, but any AP course change after August 22 requires teacher approval.
Important Notes:
- All change requests must go through the three-step process outlined on the Scheduling Hub on Schoology. Please follow all steps carefully.
- All schedule changes require a meeting with Dr. Chaponot.
- Changes are not guaranteed and are subject to space and availability.
- Even if there is space in a course, your individual schedule may have conflicts that prevent the change.
- We do not make changes to accommodate friend groups or to request a preferred teacher.
Final schedules will be distributed at orientation. Until then, we are still making adjustments to balance class sizes and section counts. Contact Principal of Academics Elizabeth Chaponot, Ph.D. with questions.
Academic Technology Update: Focused iPad Use for 2025–26
For the upcoming 2025–26 school year, the iPad will be the primary, required device for daily classroom use across all grade levels.
All students will use their iPads during the school day. Laptop carts will be provided for specific computer-intensive classes. Seniors may also bring a personal laptop for supplemental use. All on-campus standardized tests (AP, PSAT, Digital SAT) will require iPads. Be sure to charge your iPad daily, and consider using a reliable keyboard.
If there is an issue with a school-issued device, please contact Michelle Koski ’98 in the Library. For more information, check out the Educational Technology webpage.
