2nd ANNUAL AFRICAN AMERICAN GOSPEL AND SPIRITUALS WORKSHOP - Grace Will Lead Us Home

LAST CALL for the 2nd Annual African American Gospel and Spirituals Workshop! There are only a few spots left for this workshop focusing on gospel music and spirituals in relation to the Civil Rights Movement and exploring how sacred music served as worship, resistance, hope and community during that era.

The program will include:

Inspiring presentations and panel conversation
Community, worship and song
Resources and take-home materials
A light breakfast will be provided.

When: Saturday, August 15 from 9:00 am - noon. Doors open at 8:30 am

Where: Parish Hall, Grace Episcopal Church, 2955 River Road West, Goochland, VA

ANNOUNCEMENTS

A Shared Service of Worship

On Sunday, August 30th, we will hold a joint “progressive” worship service with our friends at St. John's in Columbia. We will start the morning at 9:00 am with a potluck breakfast at Grace where the service will commence at 10:00 am. Halfway through the service, we will carpool to St. John's for communion and the conclusion of the service. We look forward to this special opportunity for worship and fellowship with the congregation of St. John's. More details to come!!

Food Pantry Sunday - Thank You!

Hot and sultry weather didn't deter Grace Church from contributing 52 pounds of food to the GoochlandCares Food Pantry this month. Thank you for assuring that our neighbors in need do not go hungry!
