Complete the 2020 Census Questionnaire

It is a pivotal election year and a census year, and your voice-your action-matter! Participate in the 2020 Census and encourage others in your community to participate. Filling out your census form helps determine how many books and computers our kids' schools can afford, whether seniors in our communities can afford heating in the winter, if there are bus routes where we need them, and whether communities have fair political representation.
You can complete the questionnaire online or by mail. Go to https://censuscounts.org/participate/

Summer Worship Series: Recovery

Sometimes you've got to get sick before you can start feeling better.
We all need to recover. We're been trapped in unhealthy living, and this virus has made it clear how sick we are. As individuals, communities, and a world, we need to recover. This summer, God's Spirit will speak healing words in our sermons inspired by the Twelve Step Program. The wisdom of this path may be exactly what we need right now.

  • What Comes Around Must Go Around - August 23

Remembering Brad Fairchild with Love

Our church community was rocked this past week with the death of Brad Fairchild. Here is some information as we honor his life and resurrection in the days ahead:
  • Drive Through Visitation on Friday, August 14 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Church. As you arrive, you can watch the tribute video Brad's family created at https://bit.ly/CCYouTubeVid or listen to the music by tuning into FM 107.1. Please enter from the south parking lot.
  • Memorial Service Celebrating Brad's Life and Resurrection will be online at https://colonialucc.online.church on Saturday, August 15 at 10 a.m. Patty and the kids will see your messages of love as you share with them during the service.
  • You may leave a message of love or flowers for Patty and the kids during the visitation or at anytime this week at the cross in the Colonial Church yard, by the Founders' Chapel entrance. You can pin your message to the cross and leave flowers or battery powered candles (no open flame candles) at the foot of the cross.
  • Memorial contributions may be made at https://bit.ly/ColonialDonation

Join the Colonial Church Virtual Choir

Join the Colonial Church Virtual Choir for the 2020-21 season. Kirk Carson has a summer hobby - learning to direct a virtual choir! For this coming year, the choir will rehearse and sing from home. You'd receive a "click track" with your part (and accompaniment).  You listen to that in your headphones/earpods, while recording yourself on your phone/audio recorder and send it to be included in the choir. So, if you'd like something fun and new to try - particularly as the months turn colder - signup today to be part of our choir at https://colonialucc.breezechms.com/form/1f282c

Pencil Boxes Delivered to Head Start

The Colonial Board of Outreach donated funds to help purchase 200 pencil boxes for the Wyandotte County Head Start Program. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, children will not be allowed to share supplies as in the past where they were taught them to share and how to say please and thank you.

This donation replaces Colonial's toothbrush and toothpaste drive from the past 5 years. The students will not be doing that standard when they return to in-person attendance but instead will have the school boxes to use for the year.

Helping Our Neighbors

Artists Helping the Homeless: For the past few years, members of Colonial have purchased, prepared and helped serve an evening meal on the fourth Sunday of the month to support the program of Artists Helping the Homeless. We look forward to returning to our former way of contributing to this program soon, but until that time, please support our homeless population with a donation to cover the cost of the meal. Pay through our website by going to   https://colonialucc.breezechms.com/give/online Select AHH from the dropdown menu.

Your Support Matters

An easier alternative is to make contributions online.  You just fill in your banking information or provide a credit card and your name and email and what fund you are paying (Stewardship, food pantry, etc.) and the amount.
