Amazing Saint Michael’s Gardeners!!

St. Michael's gardeners, finished processing 48lbs of garlic. It was great to have the garden team to complete this task in very short time together. Our harvest this week was 70.5lbs and that will likely be our largest harvest week this season. We are currently at a total of 120lbs harvested produce in 2026.

Thoughts from Our Priest

Relationships are about serving each other in God’s Love

This past weekend Toni and I got married. Yay!!! I was therefore reminded of the huge importance of relationships. We are all created to be in relationships. Whether we marry or not, we all have extremely important people in our lives. We deeply care for them, and they affectionately help shape who we are. Jesus taught us the importance of healthy relationships. How we nurture our human relationships reflects our understanding of God. Further, how we tend to our relationship with God reflects the depth of our connection to others. Our relationships with God and others are constantly and forever linked.

When Jesus had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. (John 13:12-14 NIV)

Jesus showed what a true servant was by washing his disciples feet. That was generally a job performed by the lowest household servant. Jesus went on to explain that to be one of his followers meant washing each other’s feet. To wash another’s feet is not just symbolic of lowly service. It also represents embracing another’s humanity by becoming aware of their life journey. It is an act of helping to cleanse the dirt built up from the roads people have traveled. Jesus reminded us that a true servant humbles themself by caring and listening to the life experiences of another. Oh yes, and servants of God also allow others to serve and listen to them. It is a mutual act of love and vulnerability.

There are many things we can do to serve and enhance another’s well-being. We are servants when we point out each other’s God-given talents. We are servants when we embrace each other’s humanity. Everyone makes mistakes and has flaws. We are servants when we listen to each other. Human beings desperately need affirmation and compassion. We are servants when we know and accept each other as equals. Everyone matters. True lovers/ servants put their arms around each other and walk by the grace of God.

Family Promise and White River Food Pantry Lists of items needed for donations are on the table in the Narthex.

Bring a Canned Good to Church. On the first Sunday of each month ... we are taking donations of canned goods and peanut butter/jelly for the White River Food Pantry. We would like everyone to bring a canned good to church that day (or feel free to bring in multiple cans). They will then be blessed at the Altar before communion and then delivered later that week. Delivery is usually on Thursday.

Dayspring Center: Helping Homeless families find their way home. Interested in volunteering to serve dinner at Dayspring? Contact Kelly Garrett (317) 508-7790 or Kellygar0729@gmail.com. The next opportunity to serve at Dayspring is July 19. We host every other month. You can also help with food donations for this important Outreach ministry.

POP Tab Collection. Bring your pop tabs from aluminum drink cans to church for our collection. Tabs are donated to help financially with the McDonald House families.

The Church Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (times may vary). Fr. Dan is available all week except on Monday, his Sabbath Day. Friday he works at home writing, but is available for any pastoral concerns.
