Back to School Reminders
1. Thanks in advance for being cautious drivers looking out for students walking and biking to and from school, and also watching for students waiting for, entering and exiting our buses. In addition, we appreciate you looking out for our young drivers as they make their way to and from school each day!

2. Bus routes may take a bit longer than usual the first few days of school! If a route is running more than 15 minutes behind, communication will be sent to families. We appreciate your patience!

3. Don't forget about the new car line "15 minute" request! We really appreciate your help in not arriving any earlier than 15 minutes prior to dismissal for our car lines. For additional information, watch the video below! Again, the first few days make take a bit longer than usual. We appreciate your patience!

Please include your child's name, grade, school and amount paid on the envelope.

Apply for Free & Reduced Meals!
Applications are now available for free and reduced meal. Please consider completing the application, even if you do not plan to use the benefit.  A new application must be completed each year.  Click HERE for the form.
Have You Opted-In to Get Texts, Yet?
PARENTS/GUARDIANS: To receive texts from us be sure you have  opted  in to do so! If you haven't  opted  in yet, the below directions might help! Opt-in is only required one time, not annually.
*This is especially for incoming kindergarten families and families new to Republic!

If you are pretty confident your cell number is  in our system first try manually texting "Y" to code 67587. If that goes through, you will receive a confirmation text letting you know you are signed up to receive future texts. If that works, you are good to go.

However, if that does not work please contact the building your child attends to double-check that your number is  in our system correctly. If it's not, they will manually put it  in the system and then you should receive the  opt- in message the next day.

If your number is already  in our system, the issue is most likely with your wireless carrier.  In that case you will need to contact your wireless provider and let them know you are unable to receive SMS messages. They should be able to turn them on. Thank you!

Download our Free Mobile App!
Have you downloaded the Republic School District free mobile app? If not, simply search for "Republic School District" in your app store. This free app has been designed to provide our patrons with a quick and easy resource for the most sought after information distributed by the district.

Upon downloading, you will be asked to set-up the app for your personal preferences. During this process you can tap to select the schools for which you'd like to receive information. At any time you can update your preferences in the app's settings. Specifically, the calendar, announcements and notification areas will be customized to your school settings. Keep in mind the notification area will be used very minimally as we will continue to utilize the current text and voice calling system in place.

We look forward to communicating with you through this tool!

Parent Portal Has a New Look & Updated Contact Information
The Parent Portal has a new, easy-to-navigate look! To check it out visit republicschools.org and click on the "Parent Portal" icon or choose this icon inside the Republic School District mobile app. As a reminder, to login use the email address you have provided to the district and enter the password you have created. If you've forgotten it, simply click on the "forgot password" button and follow the prompts.

This is a great tool that allows you to see grade information, meal service balances and to ensure contact information is correct. Speaking of this, please login to the Parent Portal and make sure the address, email and phone numbers we have on file for you are correct. You can find this information under the "Update Household Data" icon. Any changes you submit will be sent to your child's building office for final approval. Having updated contact information helps us to be able to communicate with families throughout the school year, and it also helps us determine correct busing routes.

Activity Facility Grand Opening Events
The new activity facility at RHS is completed! Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the Open House on August 9 and also those who joined us at the Football Hydration Scrimmage on August 11!

Weren't able to attend either? No worries! The first home football game is August 24. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. and the opening ceremony will take place at approximately 6:25 p.m. prior to game time at 7:00 p.m. Thank you again to our community for their support of this project!
Bus Rider Expectations
back-school-bus.jpg The safe transportation of our students is a top priority for the Republic School District. To ensure that each route and trip provided to our students is safe and pleasant, it is imperative that a safe, clean and controlled environment is provided on the bus. In that regard, we ask that all bus riders and guardians review the bus riding expectations listed  HERE .

Highlights from Social Media
As a reminder, you can find Republic School District on Facebook and Twitter! In addition, all buildings and the STRIPES 360 program have a Facebook pages. RMS and RHS also have Twitter accounts. Check them out! Here are a few highlights:

AUG 8: It is SO GREAT to have our entire team back for the 2018-19 school year! Today was our first official day together, and we kicked it off with breakfast and an expo featuring local businesses and organizations before our All Employee Meeting. We enjoyed reflecting on the growth and success our students and district have experienced, and celebrating teammates for their years of service. Also, we had fun singing happy birthday to Dr. Wistrom, and became centered on our number one priority of taking care of students and fellow teammates! Welcome back, team! #repmoproud

AUG 6: Thanks to Emily Wood for joining us today at Tiger Up, a program in its second year created to help incoming 6th graders transition from elementary to middle school. This is a student created and led initiative to help ease anxiety about conquering middle school. Nearly 300 students are taking advantage of Tiger Up this year! Check out this story for more. #repmoproud
AUG 6: It was a fun morning at the new Republic High School Stadium! The football team had their first practice on site and the team also got their first look inside the fieldhouse. Their excitement on this short video says it all! #repmoproud

AUG 7: Oh what a wonderful time we had welcoming our new teachers over the last two days! This awesome group of educators worked hard getting to know the ins and outs of our district, and had some fun while doing it! Each of these individuals will be great additions to our team. Welcome to Republic!
