Our Deacon ministry theme is, “Praise or prayer, I’ll be there!”

It is inspired by Romans 12:5: “Rejoice with those who rejoice, and mourn with those who mourn.”

If you have a praise report or prayer request, please share them with your Deacon.

Deacon Highlight: Get to know Bill Blalock

Bill and his wife Clara will celebrate their 47th anniversary in September. They have two sons, Chris and Philip, daughter-in-law Dare, and five grandchildren.

This is Bill's second term as a Deacon at Southminster. When asked "why" he was willing to serve in this vital ministry, Bill said, "he felt called to it, and it was one of the reasons he and Clara felt a desire to return to Southminster."

Bill's greatest joy in this ministry is the feeling of getting to know the members of the congregation in a very real and personal way.

Bill and Clara have been actively involved in our College and Career Ministry, and Bill has enrolled in the Church Leadership School of the Presbytery of Western North Carolina, a two-year training ground for lay ministry, which he will being this fall.

When you see him, please be sure to thank Bill for his faithful service to Southminster!

Join our Deacons as they love our congregation. Say a prayer of praise or concern. Send a card, text or make a call the individuals named above. You can use our digital directory to find phone numbers and addresses.
